Multispectral imaging techniques (colour photography, UV/VIS/IR, etc.) allow to detect inhomogeneities in the composition and execution of artefacts through non-destructive and non-invasive techniques.

Artifact Imaging uses multispectral imaging to complete information about the condition of an artefact (traces of polychromy, pentimento, weft patterns, traces of organic materials), but also to perform a preliminary analysis for restoration work.
